Healthy Canines Grant Application

We provide grants up to $500 (between $100-$500).*Grants vary based on available funding.
Our grant program provides financial assistance for GEORGIA RESIDENTS - ONLY
We provide financial assistance for illnesses, injuries, medication, and medical equipment - ONLY
If your pet is being treated at a Banfield Pet Hospital, BluePearl Pet Hospital, VCA Animal Hospital, Veterinary Emergency Group, or Planned Pethood International, please check with their staff for financial assistance options. They offer their own financial support programs.
We DO NOT
accept applications for emergencies,
as we are not equipped to handle urgent medical needs. If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening condition or requires immediate care, please contact an emergency veterinarian immediately.

We CANNOT provide financial assistance unless the pet parent contributes financially toward the treatment or surgery - NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are unable to contribute financially toward your pets medical care, please visit our Resources page, then click, Financial Assistance for a list of other organizations that may be able to help you.
We DO NOT provide assistance for vet bills exceeding $1,200.
We
DO NOT pay for routine or preventative care, such as, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, routine dental care, routine office visits/exams, microchips, or euthanasia.
We DO NOT pay for diagnostics (i.e., X-Rays, CT Scans, MRIs, Blood Work, Exploratory Surgery, Exams, etc.) Your dog MUST have a diagnosis and treatment plan BEFORE applying for a grant.
We DO NOT pay for any type of cancer surgeries or treatments (chemotherapy and radiation therapy) - this is very costly and we do not have funding for this.
*** Any balance remaining not covered by our grant is the sole responsibility of the pet parent ***
At the end of the application, please upload the following three required documentation:
- Proof of Income or Government Subsidy you Receive
- Copy of the Invoice or Estimate from your Vet - (We DO NOT provide assistance for vet bills exceeding $1,200)
- A Clear Happy Photo of your Dog in His/Her Glory
You may also fax or email your documents.
Applications submitted without the three required documentation or vet bills exceeding $1,200 will not be reviewed and will be automatically denied.
To receive a grant from Healthy Canines Inc., this application must be completed by the person(s) seeking financial assistance in its entirety.
*Our grant program assist low-income families (income verification required) and other eligible pet parents who meet our grant guidelines in the State of Georgia.
Pet Parents will AUTOMATICALLY qualify for a grant up to $500 (between $100-$500) if you receive and provide proof for any of the following government subsidies:
- Social Security Disability Income (SSDI)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Unemployment Benefits
- Public Assistance/Welfare
- Medicare or Medicaid
*Grants vary based on available funding.
Statement of Financial Need
If you do not receive any of the government subsidies listed above, you will be required to provide supporting documention to show proof of income and financial need as stated on the Application Process page. You do not qualify for a grant if your total household income is above 250% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Healthy Canines will send a check via Certified U.S. Mail directly to the veterinary practice within 1 business day. We do not make payments to your vet over the phone.
